Homeowner Survey
The 2025 WCA EV Charger Survey is now complete!
Notifications of survey results should arrive in your mailbox between May 7th - 11th. But you can also find the results shown below:
Key Insights & Statistics:
Survey Participation: 22% of the 231 homes (51 homes) responded to the survey (from 70 unique clicks of the link). This response rate is higher than is typical-- so we appreciate you!
Current EV Landscape: 7.8% of respondents currently own one or more EVs.
Future Interest: Up to 37% of Whisperwood homes may own EVs in the coming years.
Aesthetic Compatibility: 51% of respondents believe that residential Level 2 chargers would be compatible with Whisperwood’s aesthetic (while 41% opposed). †
Permission to Install: 57% support homeowners’ rights to install in their assigned spots, at their own expense, provided they meet HOA aesthetic standards (while 33% opposed). ‡
Funding a Feasibility Study: 53% oppose using HOA funds for the one-time feasibility study (cost of ~$8,000–$10,000). Electrify Whisperwood agrees that this is not a wise use of funds, and reminds neighbors that there is no actual requirement to get one, other than our board’s desire for one.
Though I have since moved out, it is my hope that the board will review and fully consider all homeowner input from this survey when planning for the future. To all who responded: your neighbors appreciate your contribution and engagement in shaping Whisperwood’s future.
PS: The background image is AI generated, but as the project was proposed, this is essentially how it would look! The construction would be low impact... a few hours work with minor disturbance to a patch of grass (and if required to be in the pavement, a 1x2ft patch of concrete curing in the parking space), with the charger post/pedestal designed to blend seamlessly with its surroundings. It's important to everybody (us included) that these things not be an eyesore!
